MEET OUR FRIENDLY STAFF
Dr. David Sliva, D.M.D., received his undergraduate education at the University of Connecticut, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1977. He then attended the UCONN School of Dental Medicine at the Health Center in Farmington and received his degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine. At that time he was awarded both the Alpha Omega Award for Excellence in Scholarship as well as the Endodontic Award for excellence and Scholarship. To further his dental experience and expertise, he continued his education and was nominated to attend the prestigious General Dentistry Program at the Long Island Jewish Hillside Medical Center, completing the program in 1981. Since that time he has been providing comprehensive dental care to his patients in Clinton, Ct. In 1996, Dr. Sliva started a new practice in Old Saybrook, Ct., which is Saybrook Family Dental Care.
Dr. Sliva is a member of the American Dental Society, the Connecticut State Dental Society, the Shoreline Dental Society and is a founding member of the River Valley Study Club.
Dr. Sliva and his wife feel strongly about contributing to the communities which support them. Both have been active participants and leaders in civic organizations for many years. Presently, Dr. Sliva is a member of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce, the Clinton Lions Club, the Saybrook Chamber of Commerce, the Main St. Association, the Board of Directors of the Old Saybrook Ambulance Association and numerous Parent Teacher Organizations and activities.
Marilyn Derohanian is a senior dental assistant at Saybrook Family Dental Care. She is a graduate of Fairfield University and attends continuing education classes at New York University. Marilyn is qualified in endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontics and general dentistry. Dr. Sliva is at the forefront of cosmetic dentistry, and Marilyn is excited to be involved in the implementation of these new and advanced procedures. She resides in Essex, Ct. with her family.
Sally Mitchell graduated from Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New York with an associates degree. She has worked as a hygienist in the dental field for more than thirty two years. Thirty years of which were spent practicing in Old Saybrook.
