Dental Sealants

Dental sealants are a simple procedure in which a tooth colored or clear material is painted into the deep grooves on the biting surface of back teeth. They are an effective way to protect teeth from harmful sugar, acids and plaque that can accumulate where toothbrushing and flossing cannot reach in order to prevent cavities.

Sealants take just a few minutes to apply and can serve to protect the deep grooves of teeth for several years before reapplication is required. They may be recommended for both children and adults to prevent tooth decay.
